Solubility

Solubility: the miscibility of two or more substances with one another; the amount of a solute which can dissolve in a given amount of a solvent at a specific temperature.

Factors Determining Solubility:

  1. Intermolecular forces of attraction (IMFA): polar substances are soluble with other polar substances; nonpolar substances are miscible with nonpolar substances; polar and nonpolar do not mix. This is known as the “like dissolves like” phenomenon.
  2. Solubility ionization constant (Ksp): determines the extent of solubility
  3. Solubility rules (below)

  1. Thank you for the great work, i have a suggestion ,if you can add the hit next/back tab button /option at the end of every page it would be easy to toggle back and forth.
