Density is defined as the ratio of an object’s mass to its volume. Basically, how heavy is something for its size.
Density has a derived unit! A mass per unit of volume such as g/L or mg/mL.
Ex. A 5 gram object has a volume of 10 mL. What is its density? [Ans: 0.5 g/mL]
Ex. What is the mass of an object whose density is 2.0 g/mL and a volume of 12 mL? [Ans: 24g]
